This ride started life as an older series Sabian Hand Hammered Manhattan ride and was hammered to add complexity, give the cymbal a slightly ‘softer feel’ and increase the woodiness of the stick. I took off around 200 grams on the lathe and slightly increased the edge taper to increase the spread, enhance the softer feel and keep it controlled yet easily crashable.

This ride has a lovely woody and defined stick sound, a nice silvery element to the wash and nice complexity.
